Bands Panel

The Bands Panel tracks DXCluster activity by Ham band. New DX spots close to the same frequency as older DX spots replace the older spots to prevent clutter.

The individual Band Slider controls can be used to tune the radio by band. If you hold down the Option key while dragging one of the Band Sliders, the frequency will snap to 1 kHz boundaries. If you hold down the Command key while dragging one of the Band Sliders, the frequency will snap to 5 kHz boundaries. If you hold the mouse pointer over one of the band sliders and scrub the Magic Mouse scroll pad up and down the VFO frequency will be tuned.

The Band Plan popup in the Station Prefs Panel will select one of the default band plans or your Custom band plan. Only spots matching your DXCluster filter criteria will be displayed unless the Filtered Spots check box is checked then all spots filtered and unfiltered will be displayed.

The band check boxes in the Band Plan Prefs allow you to choose which bands are displayed in the Bands Panel.

Band Lights

If the Band Lights by Call check box is checked then the band lights will reflect the worked status of the last (Magenta) call displayed.

• The green light indicates that you have worked the current call (Magenta) on that band before.

If the Band Lights by Call check box is not checked then the band lights will reflect the band worked status of all the calls displayed in that band.

• The green light indicates that you have worked all of the Spots on that band before.
  
  

Band Scanning

Clicking on one of the Band Lights will begin a Scan of that band. The scan will start at the current setting of the band slider and repeat when it reaches the band top. You can set a lower top limit by dragging the band slider to the new frequency while it is scanning. The Scan light glows red while scanning and you can cancel the scan by clicking on the red band light again. There is a one second gap between each frequency step and each step is 1 kHz.

Spot Color Codes

• Green √ - Worked this call before on any band.
• Magenta - Less than 10 seconds old.
• Red - Less than 5 minutes old.
• Yellow - Between 5 and 30 minutes old.
• Gray - Older than 30 minutes.
• Spots older than the Age DX Spots popup setting in the Clusters Prefs are removed.
  
  
• Green arrows show the CW sub band.
• Yellow arrows show the RTTY sub band.
• Blue arrows show the FM sub band.
  

Clicking on the callsign next to the spot does a lookup and changes radio frequency and mode.

Mousing over one of the displayed calls will display the call status in the status area above the band lights.

Floating Bands Window

Select Detach Bands Window from the View Menu to display the Bands in a separate window.

Attach Bands Window will return the Bands to the Bands Panel.

The Floating Detached Bands Window check box in the Band Plan Preferences will set the detached window to float above other windows.
